About Us

What We Offer...

Over the past 40+ years, High Point has established a reputation for excellence throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. High Point has 21 lighted, outdoor tennis courts and eight combination Pickleball-Quick Start tennis courts. High Point is currently undergoing an extensive renovation project which is slated to be completed by February 2021. To date, all courts have been re-surfaced, fencing and nets replaced, and new pro shop built. During this project, the center is remaining open with all programs and activities available to the general public.

Tennis enthusiasts and individuals new to the sport, can participate in group tennis classes, on-site adult tennis leagues, adult workouts, tennis mixers, and private lessons.  Multiple men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles teams call High Point their “Home” for team competition organized by the Metroplex Tennis League, Tennis Competitors of Dallas, and USTA/Dallas Tennis Association. Those interested in pickleball may register for a  class, participate in Friday night Open Plays, or book a court. Our popular pickleball mixers are another great way to get out on the court! Finally, the pro shop offers the latest in tennis racquet technology, pickleball paddles, stylish apparel, tennis shoes, bags, and stringing services. TEST TEST TEST

Our History

In 1977, the Plano Parks and Recreation Department started construction on its first public tennis court facility. Completed the following year, High Point Park Tennis Center featured seven tennis courts and a pro shop, with plans to add six more courts. Under the direction of Ken Sumrow, High Point started offering tennis players leagues, tourneys, and lessons.

A quick step back in time: In the tennis world, Virginia Wade beat Betty Stove and Bjorn Borg beat Jimmy Connors at Wimbledon.
