Joshua Suarez – known on the courts as “The Pickleball Texan” — has been serving up strategy, skill, and Texas-sized personality since earning his Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) in June 2024.

From Intro to Pickleball classes to Advanced Beginner development sessions, Joshua specializes in building confident players from the ground up. While his pickleball coaching career officially began in 2024, his teaching experience stretches back much further. Since 2004, he has coached high school Colorguard, developing a sharp eye for body positioning, balance, timing, and the subtle movement patterns that elevate performance. That same trained eye now helps pickleball players refine their mechanics and strengthen their overall game.

A regular competitor in local tournaments over the past several years, Joshua has earned multiple third-place finishes — and yes, he competes and coaches exclusively in his signature cowboy hat. It’s not just style. It’s tradition.

Known for his patience, understanding, and ability to break down movement in ways that “just click,” Joshua creates a learning environment where progress and enjoyment go hand in hand. His mission is simple:

Have fun. Get better. Fall in love with pickleball. Then go share that love with someone else.

On and off the court, The Pickleball Texan brings energy, encouragement, and a touch of Texas flair to every lesson.
