Head of Junior Player Development
Mark has extensive experience developing and coaching players ranging from top juniors to professionals. He started as Head of Junior Player Development in 2013.
Mark was trained in a teaching system based on proven scientific methodologies that have been used to develop players at the highest competitive level. He is part of a world-wide network of coaches trained by Steve Smith at the Tennis Technology Program at Tyler Junior College. Upon completion of this program, Mark worked as a traveling clinician with Dennis Van der Meer and as director of the Summer Circuit Program for the Van der Meer Tennis Academy where he was also a traveling coach for touring professionals.
He has coached state, national, and international champions. He has been a USTA regional training center coach and scout. He also coached the Middle Illinois Junior Wightman Cup team.
As a Hall of Fame collegiate tennis player, Mark was named TN/VA Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in recognition of the men’s tennis teams winning six consecutive conference championships.
Prior to joining High Point, Mark co-directed the Academy Prep program at Brookhaven Country Club. He was also Head Tennis Pro at the University of Illinois Atkins Tennis Center.
