(For young players ages 6-10)

Young players enjoy competing as much as the big kids! That’s why Pre Junior Development (PJD), combines skill-building with fun, interactive drills. The goal is to encourage each player’s commitment to the game and to keep them playing for years to come.

PJD requires a minimum 2 day/week commitment and the length of each session is longer – typically between 6-8 weeks.

Pre-approval to any PJD program is required. Current High Point students may get approval from their High Point coach.  For families new to High Point, players are invited to attend a free evaluation. Free evaluations and program registration must be done through the Pro Shop.

COMPLIMENTARY EVALUATIONS FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS. Players who have participated in a pre-junior development program elsewhere, are welcome to attend a free evaluation according to the following schedule:

Evaluations for youth 10 1/2 and older are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Evaluations for youth 10 1/2 and younger are held Monday and Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p.m.

Only 4 spots are available for each age group on each evening. Therefore, you will need to sign up in advance. If you register and cannot attend, please call and cancel since space is limited. Please call (972) 941-7170, Option 3 to reserve a spot.

NOTE: You must have a Plano Parks and Recreation account to register for any High Point program.  If you do not have one, we encourage you to Create a Parks & Recreation Account Online prior to the evaluation.

Pre-Junior Development I is a program for children 6-10 years of age who have completed the Pee Wee I & II classes.

Pre-Junior Development II is a program for children 6-10 years of age who have completed Pre JD 1 and have developed more advanced tennis skills.

Pre-Junior Development III is a program for children 6-10 years of age who have completed both Pre JD 1 & II. These players are now starting to compete in mini tournaments.
